Single Origin Coffee Description

Finca Los Pinos is a 24-hectare farm under the esteemed “Finca La Bolsa” group managed by Vides Family - a coffee-producing family we’ve sourced from many times over the years. The farm is nestled at a remarkable altitude of 2250 meters above sea level in Guatemala’s western region of Santa Barbara. Managed by Elmer Lopez, the farm is home to nearly 57,000 coffee trees, predominantly traditional varieties such as Caturra, Bourbon, and Pacamara.

The name of the coffee, "Los Pinos”, pays homage to the majestic pine trees that dot the landscape. Established in 2013 by Renardo Ovalle as an experimental project, the farm has since gained a reputation for producing coffee with a distinctive character, shaped by its unique soil and elevation.

The coffee from Los Pinos undergoes a meticulous washed process. Only perfectly ripe cherries are handpicked, depulped, and fermented for 24 hours before being sun-dried on patios to achieve the ideal moisture content. Despite the challenges of limited rainfall in the region, the farm’s high-altitude location consistently yields exceptional coffee renowned for its quality and flavour profile.

With a flavour profile of delicate florals, balanced fruitiness and a well rounded mouthfeel, this is a standout coffee. Beyond the cup, we are inspired by the Vides family’s deep commitment to community and sustainability. Through their farming practices, they support the local community by building schools and sharing their rich agronomy knowledge.  We are incredibly proud to feature this coffee.
