Filter Blend Description

Comprising an equal split of two amazing origins; Ethiopia and Kenya, Hey Buddy has developed a cult following amongst our filter fans thanks to its versatility around hot and cold-brewed methods.

The Ethiopian coffee comes to us from the Dumerso Washing Station in Yirgacheffe, a famous region of Ethiopian Coffee. Female owned and managed since 2014, Dumerso employ’s and trains a 95% female workforce of up to 400 staff seasonally, and works with a network of 330 local smallhold farmers. Hirut Birhanu, a coffee industry veteran with an astounding two decades of experience in production, processing and trading, is the driving force behind the operation.

The Kenyan coffee comes to us from the Gichathaini and Riakiberu Coffee Factories of the Nyeri region of Kenya, via Doorman’s coffee. Both washing stations belong to Cooperatives and are collectively supplied cherry by 2000+ smallholders farmers. The Nyeri region is home to Mount Kenya, an extinct volcano that produces rich, red soil.

These two coffees come together to create a crisp, clean and fruit forward cup with vibrant acidity. Simple and approachable, it’s no surprise this filter blend has been a mainstay on our coffee menu for eight years.
