Hunting down good coffee on your holidays isn’t ideal. Luckily, there are plenty of easy ways to keep your daily coffee routine intact—no matter where you are.

AeroPress

Compact, lightweight, and easy to use, theAeroPress is a traveller’s favourite. This versatile brewer makes a clean, filter-style coffee and is perfect for camping, hotels, or even in-flight brewing. All you need is the AeroPress, filter papers, coffee, and hot water—no bulky equipment required. Plus, with ourHey Buddy Filter Blend, it brews a seriously good cup.

How to brew:

  1. Place a paper filter inside the AeroPress cap and rinse with hot water.
  2. Assemble the AeroPress and place it on your cup with the cap facing down.
  3. Add 15g of medium-fine ground coffee (about 1 heaped tablespoon).
  4. Pour 225ml of hot water (92-96°C) over the coffee.
  5. Stir gently for 10 seconds, then attach the plunger and wait for 1–1.5 minutes.
  6. Slowly press the plunger down until you hear a hissing sound.
  7. Remove the AeroPress, discard the used coffee puck, and enjoy your brew!

For a stronger coffee, use less water or increase the brew time slightly. For a milk-based brew, top up your AeroPress shot with hot milk.

Plunger (French Press)

A plunger is one of the simplest ways to brew coffee, perfect for those slow holiday mornings. You’ll often find them in Airbnb kitchens and hotel rooms, and they come in travel-friendly sizes as small as 350ml.

Brewing is easy:

  1. Add ground coffee to the empty plunger.

  2. Fill with hot water and let it steep for about 5 minutes with the lid and metal filter resting above the water.

  3. Press the plunger down to separate the grounds from the coffee.

You can use eitherfilter or espresso-roasted coffee in a plunger, making it a flexible option.

Stovetop (Moka Pot)

The stovetop (or moka pot) is a classic for a reason! If your accommodation has a stove—or your campsite has a fire—it’s an easy, no-fuss way to brew rich, espresso-style coffee. It’s a staple in homes, holiday rentals, and camping setups alike—just bring your favourite Padre Coffee beans. We recommend espresso-roasted coffee for this brewing device, and, if we had to pick it would definitely be our Daddy's Girl Espresso Blend.

How to brew:

  1. Fill the bottom chamber of your moka pot with fresh water up to the safety valve.
  2. Insert the filter basket and fill it with 18-20g of finely ground coffee (similar to table salt). Level the coffee but don’t tamp it down.
  3. Screw the top chamber on firmly and place the moka pot on medium heat.
  4. Leave the lid open and wait for the coffee to start flowing—this should take about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Once the coffee is steadily flowing, close the lid and remove the moka pot from heat just before it starts sputtering.
  6. Stir the brewed coffee gently and serve immediately.

For a stronger coffee, use a slightly finer grind. For a milk-based brew, add steamed milk to your stovetop coffee for a café-style experience.
